Maps
Lux Delux comes with a built-in Map Editor. You can access it from the File menu or Control-Y (Command-Y on Macs). There's an accompanying online Map Tutorial.
Each map file is actually a specially formatted XML file. If you're a text junkie here's the XML specification of the map format.

Themes
Maps can have graphics themes decorating them. Take a look at the Theme Tutorial for details.

AIs and Map Generators
Programmers can create AIs and random map enerators for Lux using the Lux SDK. It is a Java based framework that includes examples.
